Greenwood Wildlife’s mission is to rehabilitate orphaned and injured wildlife for release back to the wild. We also strive to educate the public, emphasizing humane solutions to human-wildlife interactions. In 2022, 834 intakes came from Larimer County alone. Like this duckling: A mother Mallard in Estes Park waddles across a road, unknowingly leaving a baby franticly dodging traffic. A caring resident found the youngling and, after searching for its parent, brought it to Greenwood. There, it thrives in the company of other ducklings, learning to dive and dabble on delicious duckweed. After several weeks, Greenwood returns it to the wild.
